This is my first time reading Brigham’s kinky stories and oh my🥵
I loved that there was so much animosity between Tyler and Donovan. We knew that all that tension would lead to some explosive hate seggs that neither of them was prepared for.
Tyler had never been a submissive and for him to submit to someone like Donovan was a hard no. He didn’t like the guy, not only because he wasn’t gay, but because he thought Donovan was full of himself.
So when they have to take over the restaurant they work at and Tyler is the one in charge, let’s just say that Tyler was a bit smug. To be the one in charge of Donovan was a rush he couldn’t deny.
Of course, Donovan made sure to tell him the restaurant was the only place he would be in charge, everywhere else that was Donovan’s territory. Donovan didn’t submit to anyone.
Tyler couldn’t deny that he liked their bickering and banter. It was a form of foreplay for them and Tyler enjoyed being difficult for Donovan.
It was never in his plans to be with a man and it was hard for Tyler to accept he enjoyed being with Donovan. But the more scenes they did together, the more submissive he became.
Donovan wasn’t supposed to catch feelings for Tyler. It was supposed to be just mutual release but somewhere along the way, he fell in love with the bratty man.
Finding the perfect submissive seemed impossible for Donovan, especially after his breakup. But Tyler turned out to be exactly what he needed and so much more.
I have to read the previous two books! I really enjoyed this story and need to know more about the previous characters.

Tyler is the bar manager at Hawk Point tavern, and a veteran. Donavan the chef of the restaurant. These two are confrontational to say the least, both very set in their ways of doing things. Donavan coming off a relationship which just didn’t fit good. Tyler having issues helping his father after hip surgery also trying to help a friend with PTSD issues. This is Tyler’s introduction to a new lifestyle and Donavan being there for him through the ups and downs. Very emotional, interesting and a fun book to read or listen to.
Book 3 in the Naughty in Pendleton series, James Edward Jones does a wonderful job of bringing to life veteran and bar manager Tyler Hewitt and chef Donovan Ryan, the animosity that turns to something more. He deftly handles Tyler’s stress issues that he deals with still ten years out of the military, his worry and love of his best friend Eddie, who isn’t handling civilian life well at all and Donovans issues with Tyler’s authority over him because he feels a bartender is beneath him all the while wishing he could tie him up and do things with him. James also does a great job of expressing Tylers struggles with coming to terms with his newly discovered bisexuality and letting go to fully become a submissive and Donovans yearning to take their hookups to the next level and become a couple and collar Tyler. I received an advance listener copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
About the story: I loved it, I was completely hooked since the beginning (even if at the very beginning of the book there is a flashback that is not well introduced, I even thought it was a glitch with the audio, but it's actually the same in the book), and couldn't wait see to how the relationship between these two would evolved. I loved both main characters. I did not really like Donovan at first, but it changed rapidly and I really loved how he actually was very sweet, and patient, and caring and protective besides being a sadistic dom, and I really felt for Tyler, how he had such a hard time accepting his submissiveness and his attraction to men, but once he realised it was what he craves, he was all in. I really liked their enemy to lovers dynamics. I think it's my favourite of the series so far.
This is book three of the Naughty in Pendleton series, but is a standalone. We have a couple of glimpses and mentions of characters from previous books.
About the audio: I love this narrator, he does a great job capturing both characters and transmitting all the emotions, even with a 3rd person style. He mades it very easy to listen and to enjoy the story.
I got an ALC and this is my honest review.
Have I mentioned that Brigham is part of the reason I fell for kink? Especially this small town goodness with a kind of kink that’s just a part of life. I do also particularly like her depiction of kink. Her style of writing, the descriptions of fun times, all of it just works especially well for me.
And these two; Chef and Bar Manager who start off irritating each other at every opportunity, who discover that there is the possibility for something different, something more fun, something real, are everything.
Donovan is still off kilter by his previous relationship ending the way it did. The years spent trying to make something work that was meant to be. He’s made to be a Dom, to care of someone.
Tyler craves being able to lay down the weight of the world he’s carrying, for someone to help pick it up for him. Only he had no idea that was an option. Until Donovan.
Their relationship develops slowly, exactly the way it needs to be for Tyler. To come to terms with the kink, with being with a man, because his world also carries the stress and worry of others in his life. But the journey is tender, and thoughtful, and perfect.
Narrated by James Edward Jones, who always delivers a wonderful performance and does a great job at capturing the different personalities.

I’ve owned the eBook of Made to Order for a few years but never made time to read it. I was so happy that I was allowed access to a copy of the audiobook performed by James Edward Jones. This was a very hot and kinky enemies-to-lovers, bi-awakening story about a guy who swears he’s straight and the kinky chef that shows him that might not be so true.
Tyler and Donovan both work at the same restaurant/bar where Donovan is part owner of the new restaurant side and Tyler has worked as a bartender, now bar manager, for several years. The two of them clash and really don’t like each other much at all. Their animosity towards each other causes them to have some pretty hot confrontations where they both eventually realize that it’s a turn on for Tyler. Donovan sees Tyler’s potential as a sub but it takes a while for Tyler to come to terms with the fact that it’s a man who’s turning him on.
This story contains some scenes that might bother some readers. Tyler is a masochist and Donovan loves to exploit that when they play. If breath play and scenes with a bit of torture bother you, you might need to pass on this one. Just know that if you do, you’ll be missing a great story.
Donovan’s ex added some interesting elements to this book and I’m looking forward to reading or (hopefully) listening to his book. I should add that Donovan’s grandmother was a delightful addition to this story.

Made to Order, Naughty in Pendleton Book 3, by Brigham Vaughn works out to not be my vibe. Although, in general, Vaughn is a must read author for me, perhaps because I haven't read books one and two, or maybe because the main characters, Tyler (the bar manager) and Donovan (the chef) didn't hold my attention the way I might have expected, I ended up feeling a bit neutral about the story. I listened to the audio book, which was well narrated. If you love Brigham Vaughn's writing, I'd say this is still worth the read, but if you loved loved loved her Relationship Goals series, this one may not match.
This is a sweet and steamy small-town MM romance. It's relatively low angst, steamy yet emotional romance.
Donovan and Tyler's chemestry was off the charts. I really enjoyed their D/s dynamic as they explored the kink BDSM world together. The spice was spicing with a bi-awakening cherry on top. Their opposites attract tension also added a fun element.
Narrated by James Edward Jones. He was easy to listen to and held my attention throughout the story.
It was an easy, fun read that also pulled at my heartstrings.

*Made to Order* is the third book in the *Naughty in Pendleton* series. The author’s writing style is a joy to read, and I was quickly drawn into the world of Tyler and Donovan.
After his time in the Army, Tyler works as a bar manager at the “Hawk Point Tavern.” Donovan is the head chef there, and he doesn’t really take orders from anyone. So far, that hasn’t been a problem—the two have clashed every now and then, but that changes when the owner goes on vacation and Tyler is supposed to run the bar in his absence. Because Donovan isn’t the type to take orders. I found the banter between the two of them very amusing and entertaining.
There’s tension every time they cross paths, until the sparks suddenly ignite into flames. Donovan enjoys kink and is dominant. He starts a no-strings-attached affair with Tyler, who isn’t necessarily opposed to kink, but he’s surprised himself by how turned on he gets when Donovan is dominant. He never would have expected to be in this role, just as he’d always considered himself straight until now.
I liked Tyler right away, partly because of the way he treats his friend Eddie, whom he’s very worried about.
It took me a while to warm up to Donovan as a character, but eventually I connected with him—at the latest when he became a source of support for Tyler during a difficult situation.
The story is as interesting as it is entertaining. It begins with kinky encounters that were supposed to be no-strings-attached. The kinky scenes are well-described, steamy, and explore themes like dominance and submission, as well as impact and breath play. If that’s your thing, you’ve come to the right place.
But what happens when feelings start to develop? Do the two of them have a chance? Does Tyler even want to come out? Read it for yourself!
I found the development of their relationship interesting, and the story was a pleasure to listen to.
James Edward Jones is, as always, a wonderful narrator. He’s very good at capturing the characters and the mood, bringing the story to life. It was a pleasure to listen to him.
It's been a minute since I've read/listened to any k!nky romances, so color me intrigued by the premise. The k!nk and military angles were equally integral to the characters and their story, which added an emotional depth and richness to all the spice that I hadn't been expecting. And I ate it up with a spoon!
This would've been a satisfying read in and of itself, but experiencing it in audio added another layer to the story. A tip of the cap to narrator James Edward Jones for so deftly conveying Donovan's authoritative gentleness (that's the best way I can describe it) and Tyler's inner conflict on what would become his journey of self-discovery and self-acceptance. The performance was *chef's kiss*.
I had no issue jumping into this series at Book 3, so I'm counting it as a true standalone. And now I want to listen to the whole series.

When the owner goes on vacation she needs to appoint someone to be "in charge" while she's gone. Donovan assumes it will be him and his shocked when she tells Tyler he'll be in charge of both the bar and the restaurant side. Tyler has been there for ten years and knows a bit more of what to expect but Donovan wasn't happy at all about the situation and lets it be known. Tyler and Donovan butt heads at every turn. Somehow that anger and aggression turns into something more between them. Tyler has never been attracted to men but something about Donovan has him noticing more than he ever has. Donovan is attracted to Tyler but Donovan has very specific tastes and isn't sure Tyler is ready for what he wants from him.
It was a his interested to bi-awakening to go to bottoming in a D/s relationship but I was so invested. James Edward Jones gave these characters so much life. I was so drawn in. I swear each book I listen to that he narrates is my favorite until the next.

Oooooh! I very much enjoyed Tyler and Donovan. Their love-hate beginning was great. It was great to see their relationship grow almost without them even realizing it. While I don’t think I would enjoy their particular bdsm pairing, I can appreciate what it gave each of them.
Brigham always does such a great job creating found families and supportive communities.
I loved the balance between Tyler and Donovan. Expect the unexpected but in the best way possible. These two really figured each other out naturally. There is a battle for dominance but that was definitely meant to go the way it did. I loved actually listening to this relationship. It was a more powerful experience.

Readers return to Pendleton and meet Donovan & Tyler. Their chemistry was off the chain even before they realized their dynamic. How they went from coworkers who tolerated each other to dominate & submissive felt very natural. I loved all the side characters especially Donovan Granny.
Donovan + Tyler = kink heaven
Tyler believes he’s got everything together. He’s been a bartender at the tavern for years and, for a short time, he’s in charge of running the place. That means he’s in charge of Donovan – part owner and head chef.
Man, talk about a recipe for conflict. Both are men unaccustomed to taking orders. Sure, Tyler did when he was in the army – but he’s out now and has been living life on his terms. Donovan doesn’t just run his kitchen with an iron fist, but he’s always the one in charge in the bedroom.
So, once they discover mutual attraction, who’s going to yield first?
I have to say I enjoyed this book. Both men discover things about themselves as they explore each other. Both have to confront their pasts. Tyler in regards to an army buddy who’s in a bad way and Donovan with an ex who wants another chance.
Now, I’m kinky myself, so I really enjoyed the authenticity of their interactions. The D/s dynamic played out beautifully and I loved how each allowed the other to figure things out on their own. They made a great couple.
I always enjoy Brigham audiobooks and this one was just as always. James Edward Jones is a great narrator and he did a fantastic job. Can’t wait for the next one!
Y'all, the opening sentence of this book is one MC's GRANDMOTHER asking him the last time he's had a kinky hookup...and if that doesn't set the tone for the rest of the book, idk what else will 😂

This book was much more up my alley than the previous book; we do have MCs with a D/s dynamic, but there is no degradation or humiliation kink involved. Instead, it is more about being able to give each other what they need in the moment.
In this story, we meet Chef Donovan Ryan, who is the chef and co-owner of the restaurant side of the Pendleton tavern/restaurant, and Tyler, who is the Bar Manager. They are initially always butting heads, which of course can lead to only one thing when Tyler is put in charge of the whole business for a week while the main owner is out of town 👀
Of course, one hook-up isn't enough, and it slowly evolves into a full-fledged romance.
TW: Tyler had previously served in the military, so there is also a lot of on-page discussion about what he experienced during those times, as well as mentions of the deaths of his previous unit members. There are also instances where he is worried about his best friend, and former unit member, dying by suicide (which does not happen), and instances of that best friend drunk driving.
This is book 3 in the Naughty in Pendleton series but stands alone well.
I really enjoyed the narration it gave the characters more depth and added excitement to the story.
I liked the characters and that both men were bossy. It made it harder to guess where the story would go.

Donovan is a Chef who is into relationships despite a bad break up. He is also into kink and is a Dom.Tyler is an ex military veteran and the manager of the bar in the same attached restaurant as Donavan. He has been there for 10 years with his friend that is the owner. He claims to be straight despite hooking up with guys in the past which he says is just "normal military destressing". He claims he does not want a relationship. Him and Donavan do not get along at all.
This can be read as a standalone. I absolutely loved book 1 but I had a much harder time getting into this one. Donovan came across as a jerk for absolutely no reason. It made him really unlikable. Tyler had his moments too but they were usually just in response to Donavans rudeness and condescension and I enjoyed his character.
The chemisty felt forced to me for the majority of the book. The first time they got together seemed so random. It was mind boggling when they hated each other, there had been no attraction between them and the one MC still claimed he was straight. I get that hate sx is a thing but I need a little more working up to it and some sx tension first. Even further into it they didn't really have chemisty outside of the bedroom or even really acknowledge each other. The high heat scenes were what carried most of the story til about 75% in. I did enjoy the last 25% when Donavan got more likeable and there was finally some relationship development but I didn't like how much a side character stole the show.
I absolutely loved the Grandma. She was hilariously naughty.
I always love this narrator. They have a pleasant reading voice, he kept a good pace and sounded age appropriate for the main characters. He expressed all the emotions really well and made it an enjoyable listening experience. He gave all the characters, even the side characters distinct voices that suited them each perfectly and brought the story to life.
I love Brigham Vaughn’s writing style, and I loved this great couple!

Well, as it happens, them hating each other so much leads to confrontations, and one thing leads to another… well, you can imagine the rest, but I strongly suggest you read the book for every deliciously kinky detail!
Tyler Hewitt enjoys his job. He's been at the Hawk Point Tavern for over a decade. He enjoys a great relationship with his boss and a not so great relationship with the executive chef of the sister restaurant. Chef Donavan is a persnickety and condescending piece of work. He's abrupt and not exactly friendly to Tyler. And why does Tyler care? He's got his own job and life and he's got plenty on his plate. His best friend Eddie from his military service is in trouble. He can't seem to get the help he needs from the VA. He's got a pretty severe case of PTSD and the therapy isn't working. He's drinking way too much and both Tyler and Eddie's wife Andrea are incredibly worried that he'll do something rash.
Donavan Ryan loves his job. He's half owner of a Tavern/Restaurant and has built a solid reputation. He's busy, exacting and prickly. When his previous job and relationship blew up in spectacular fashion, he moved on the much smaller town of Pendleton. It's where he went to lick his wounds at his grandparents place. It was his safe haven growing up - especially after he declined to join the family business - lawyering - and become a chef. His grandma is his biggest fan though and he couldn't love her more. Generally he's pretty happy, although he'd be way happier if he could find the perfect sub. When his relationship with Jude, his former boyfriend, happened in a loud and public way, it resulted in Donavan being persona non grata and so he had no choice to move out of town. Luckily he landed on his feet in Pendleton. Now if he could just get the "bar manager" of the Tavern to see things his way ;)
When the owner of the bar decides to take a vacation, she leaves Tyler in charge. This makes Donovan furious! He should NOT have to report to a bartender. Oh boy. Wrong move buddy. When one of her partners confronts Donovan and Tyler about their behavior and how it's going to ruin the vacation, they decide they need to straighten up. But that doesn't mean they like each other. What does it mean? Well when they confront one another late in the evening at the beginning of the vacation, their spark turns sexual. And it seems like they might have something more in common than their animosity. They embark on some pretty hot hate sex when Tyler discovers that Donovan is a dom and he just wants to get out of his own head.
What starts out a something very casual catches fire pretty quickly. Donovan introduces Tyler to a lot of new things. In the military Tyler had a couple of encounters with guys but he chalked that up to desperation out in the field. He's only ever really been with woman and while he's indulged in a little dom kink, he didn't really love it. Being on the receiving end though? That's a totally different story. Especially when that Dom is Donovan who clearly knows what he's doing.
Tyler has a lot of noise in his head about going from thinking he's straight to craving what he has with Donovan. They end up spending more nights together than apart. Tyler loves giving himself over to Donovan and even really likes the struggle. There is a lot of kink to explore here! They both have other issues to deal with too - but especially trying to support Eddie. But Tyler eventually comes around to realizing that he can't do this thing with Donovan half way. Once he's all in, he's going to have to make peace with sharing that he's not really all that straight ;)
This is my favorite book in this series so far. I really liked these two and they certainly didn't have an easy path. Tyler has to do a lot of soul searching and find a way to accept that he might not be who he always thought he was. His desires after being with Donovan are not at all where he thought he would be at this stage in his life. He is very clearly into what they are doing, but it takes him a while to understand the why of it and be ok with embracing this side of himself. He is worried about what other people will think about him being with a man and he's especially worried about people judging their relationship and all that entails. Donovan has pretty much given up on finding his person. His last relationship explosion just about tanked his entire life - including his professional life. He and Tyler start out very much at odds. Donovan is very formal in how he runs his kitchen and he is a bit unfair to Tyler in the beginning - calling him just a bartender - despite Tyler having worked at the bar/restaurant longer than Donovan has. This feeds into their initial hostility/animosity that spills over into the hate sex encounter. I really loved how their relationship built and I felt like that part of this story was authentic. This isn't my favorite genre, but this book really showed the dynamic between these two that grew from just sex to so much more.
As usual, James Edward Jones does and outstanding job performing this story. Donovan is a prickly exacting Dom. His expectations must be met ;) Tyler's gradual acceptance of his true nature and his brattiness are so on point here. I loved the secondary relationships too - well except for Jude. Maybe he'll redeem himself in the next book :P Very very well done. Highly recommended and even if you aren't a BDSM fan, this book is worth a listen.
