Narrated by James Edward Jones

The last thing Tanner Clayton needs is to fall in love with his rival ...

He loves playing defense for the Boston Harriers, hooking up with anyone he wants to, and hanging out with the boys.

Settle down? No way!

Especially not with Leif Rasmussen—top scorer for their divisional rival—who he loves to torment during games.

But the more time Tanner and Leif spend together at skills camps and tournaments, the harder the sparks fly on and off the ice.

As the top line center of the New York Rockets, Leif is desperate to live up to the legacy of his superstar father and hold his team together while their captain is out with a long-term injury.

Tanner is nothing but a distraction … and everything Leif refuses to admit he wants.

And when the Harriers and the Rockets go head-to-head in the playoffs, there’s more than just the Cup on the line …

There’s a chance at love.

Customer photo review of Game Misconduct (The Scoring Chances Series #6) - Audiobook

I have been so excited for Tanner’s books and it did not disappoint!! As always, the writing was exceptional, the pace was perfect and the spice was HOT!!! Tanner and Leif have known each other for 10 years and have been rivals for most of it. The occasional hookup wasn’t enough to stop the animosity between them. Tanner loves getting under Leif’s skin and every interaction ends in a fight. Even through all the rage and hostility, the sexual tension that radiates off of them is intense. I loved how these two came together. The hate sex turning into friendship that slowly turned into more was exactly what I expected from them. Even though they went long periods of time not being able to meet in person, the phone calls and texting helped form their relationship into a strong friendship first. One of my favorite things about Brigham’s books is the absence of unnecessary drama. I love the open communication and lack of third act breakups! The Boston team dynamics are amazing and easy acceptance of other players and relationships is heart warming. Seeing all the previous couples from the series is always fun, but in this book, we get to see couples from the other series as well! There’s no shortage of amazing side characters and I cannot wait for several of their stories (especially the new head coach of NY & the goalie coach)! And the audio!!!! It was done so good!!! James Edward Jones is one of my top narrators! He always brings the characters to life in the best way! Highly recommend checking out the audio!!! ✨ Pro hockey players ✨ Rivals to Lovers ✨ Hate sex ✨ Grumpy Sunshine ✨ Neurodivergent Rep ✨ Low Angst

was lucky to have been able to ARC read this book earlier this year so it was a great to be able to hear James Edward Jones bring to life Tanner and Leif’s story. James does a great job of bringing to life Tanner’s absolute chaos and Leif’s very structured life in this rivals to lovers book. From start to finish I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the story.

5 ⭐ About the story : I was impatiently waiting for Tanner and Leif's story (and to know who had won the cup), and I really loved it. I loved them both, with their flaws, insecurities, big hearts, kindness and protectiveness for each other. They have unavoidable chemistry and the rival to friends to lovers is so well written, I was completely convinced and hooked. I have to admit I struggled a bit with the chapters during the tournament, as it was a kind of update of couples from previous series (that I haven't read but are on my TBR), but besides that I could not put the book down. As in previous books the Harriers found family is fantastic. About the audio: I had loved the book, and loved the audio as well. I loved revisiting this story. The narrator does a wonderful job, and I was completely hooked even if I knew what would happen. This is the sixth and final book in the Scoring Chances series, it can be read as a standalone, but there are many mentions and interactions with couples from previous books in the series, but also from previous series. It contains scenes from the two previous books narrated from a different POV. It also lays the ground for the next series, and we have a hint about three potential couples ;-) I got an ALC and this is my honest review

Audiobook Review: Overall – 5 Performance – 5 Story – 5 I loved this book when I read it with my eyes back in August 2026 and now, I loved it even more after listening to James Edward Jones perform the audiobook. My original review is shown below. ★彡 FIVE STARS 彡★ OMG, I loved this rivals-to-lovers story! Tanner plays the field and he doesn’t want to settle down. That all changes when he and his rival, Leif, keep seeing each other during tournaments, etc. What starts off as just fooling around soon turns into more. These two are HOT together and I loved that Tanner was willing to make serious changes to be with Leif. The last couple of chapters are the perfect set up for her next series: The Neutral Zone and I can’t wait to read the books! A review copy of this audiobook was provided to me at my request. I voluntarily left a review and it was not influenced by the author or narrator.

Game Misconduct (The Scoring Chances Series #6) - Audiobook

GAME MISCONDUCT is the sixth and final installment in the Scoring Chances series. It can be read as a standalone but reads better if you read in the order the author intended. What to expect: 🏒Rivals to Lovers 🏒Menace x Ice Princess 🏒Found Family 🏒Opposites Attract 🏒Neurodivergence Rep Tanner is like an excited puppy with endless energy. You can't help but love him. He loves to torment Leif who are rivals and have been since they were sixteen. Tanner and Leif use their chirps and banter as foreplay and when they get together it is explosive. They swear it won't happen again but it does repeatedly. The build up of this relationship throughout this series has been amazing. There is so much sexual tension and hate sex between Tanner and Leif. They are so opposite but when they finally give in to the other they just work so well together. I love seeing passed characters and the introduction to new for the next series. I love that we got Tanner last he was everything I wanted him to be. This series has been fantastic in every way. I couldn't pick a favorite if I had to but the whole series is top tier! I absolutely loved the audio of Game Miscount. James Edward Jones brings so much life to these characters. I loved the tension and banter with Tanner and Leif. Their relationship was kept private for so long but they work so well together. Even though I read the book prior to listening to the audio and James had me so invested I couldn't miss a second from start to finish!

Game Misconduct (The Scoring Chances Series #6) - Audiobook

M/M Hockey romance Team rivals Enemies to lovers Grumpy/sunshine Opposites attract Arc audio review Story = 3 stars Narration = 5 stars These 2 men get off to a rough start. Overall this book was ok in terms of the plot. It was hard for me to be invested in their relationship cause I didn't really care for either MC. I was more interested in the side characters and their relationships. Hawke and Axel and the other player in a poly relationship. The world building continued to be fantastic. Tanner was sex obsessed. It was all he did or think about or talk about with anyone and everyone. The guy had no substance. It was cringe. Leif most definitely had bad ADD despite denying it to the multiple people that mentioned it to him due to his mom checking once when he was little. I would never talk badly about someone's medical issues but when they deny having it despite so many people suggesting it and take no action to get tested again. Or get help to change their behavior I kinda can't help getting annoyed by them and I sympathized with the ones that had to put up with him. The ending was better but I lost interest by then. They were an ok couple when they were together but even 75% in it seemed like the relationship was forced and one sided. I just wasn't feeling it and didn't care about their outcome. It felt like the book was trying to hard to be like heated rivalry but totally missed the mark. This totally pains me to say cause I normally love this author. I always love this narrator. They have a pleasant reading voice, he kept a good pace/flow and sounded age appropriate for the main characters. He expressed all the emotions really well and made it an enjoyable listening experience. He gave all the characters, even the side characters, distinct voices that suited them each perfectly and brought the story to life.

Game Misconduct (The Scoring Chances Series #6) - Audiobook

My need for Leif to find love and comfort was extreme here! I completely related to his anxiousness. Falling for the promiscuous Tanner was probably not ideal but it did become perfect. I loved the free spirit that Tanner was, but I wanted to shake him early on for sure! Perfect Narration as always!

Game Misconduct (The Scoring Chances Series #6) - Audiobook

I love the Harriers! I’ve been excited for Tanner’s story. It was much more than I expected. To the rest of the world, he’s just a big, happy-go-lucky flirt. No commitments. Just fun. Leif couldn’t be more different than Tanner. Focused. Reserved. Strict. When their worlds collide, it’s a new frontier! Each of them grow so much. They balance each other. Plus, there’s so much heat 🔥

Game Misconduct (The Scoring Chances Series #6) - Audiobook

Game Misconduct is the sixth and final book in the Scoring Chances series and can be read as a standalone. I cannot believe this is Brigham Vaughn’s first time writing rivals to lovers because oh my goodness she is a master at it. This book was spectacular. I was obsessed with Cheap Shot and completely feral about this one. Hands down one of the best stories that Vaughn has ever written. This one is a true masterpiece! Both of these books are absolutely in my favourite reads of this year. I don’t think I can write all the ways I loved Tanner and Leif’s story. Tanner has a genuine, kind heart and an energetic, contagious charisma that you can’t help but fall in love with. Leif was really conscientious, hardworking, intelligent and introverted. I loved everything about their relationship development and individual personal growth. Their chemistry, their deep feelings and devotion towards each other… Just thinking about these two causes tears to swell in my eyes. I adored that this book had scenes across the two previous books. The plot just hit in a different way that I couldn’t get enough of. I honestly didn’t put this book down. A certain scene was kind of epic. Tanner’s kindness and bravery just shone. I loved how protective Leif and Tanner were of each other! I was ecstatic to catch up with some couples (Zane & Ryan; Anders & Kelly (one of my favourite Brigham characters); Dustin & Charlie; Nico & Auggie; Jessie & Connor). I love this team so much!!! The teams in the other series, there was either a bad seed, lots of drama or people in the team that felt left out. Whereas with this one, they are such a solid, supportive found family. They lift each other up and have great chemistry. Luke and Tanner’s heartfelt moment made me so emotional! That they think of each other as family warmed my heart. What a roller coaster of emotions in this book. These characters were off the charts amazing, the plot was incredible, and my heart loved the journey Tanner and Leif took to get their happily ever after. A truly fabulous read - and one I will revisit many times to come. My heart is full. The laughs, the tears, and the sexy moments so hot I needed a fan, Game Misconduct shows James Edward Jones’s narration at his heartfelt best and definitely made me want more time with this lovely, dynamic couple! I swooned, I melted, and I want more. Narration 5+ stars. I always hate the ending of Vaughn’s hockey series but this one hurt the most. I don’t want to say goodbye to any of them 😭. While I am sad to have turned the last page, the series was wrapped up in a way to give the characters and readers the ending they deserve. Looking forward to seeing more of Leif and Tanner in the next series! This book contains realistic depictions of hockey player injuries, mild homophobia from secondary characters, and a side character threatening self-harm on page. 🏒 MM Hockey Romance 😤 Rivals to lovers ❤️‍🔥 Opposites attract 😈 Menace x ice princess 🌤️ Grumpy x sunshine ♾️ Neurodivergent rep 🥵 Hate sex 🥰 Found family Plot: 📚📚📚📚📚 Character rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Sexiness: 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Feels: 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤 Writing style: 🖊🖊🖊🖊🖊 Narration by James Edward Jones: 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕

Game Misconduct (The Scoring Chances Series #6) - Audiobook

So this review is a great example of how time and an audio version of a book can really change one's opinion. When I read Game Misconduct, I wasn't happy with the ending, but when I listened, suddenly the pacing worked, the resolution felt authentic, and I loved everything I hadn't on first read. Game Misconduct, Scoring Chances Series Book 6, by Brigham Vaughn finally brings us Tanner and Leif's story. Their on ice rivalry is well known, but they've actually known each other since juniors, and even used to be friends. The question now: can they figure out what they each want? As I mentioned, I was initially a bit disappointed by the book overall, but definitely wanted to see how the series wrapped up. Here's to Tanner and Leif's happily ever after, and to the next series! 4.5 stars rounded up

Game Misconduct (The Scoring Chances Series #6) - Audiobook

ALC Review ⭐️5 I absolutely love Tanner and Leif. Getting to listen to them (while living my best life playing Dressmaker) was such a highlight for me this month. Going through their relationship again was still amazing. They work surprisingly well. I see parts of myself in each of them a bit which makes their story even more special for me. I’m sad the time with Boston is over (besides the Christmas book) but I’m so glad that Tanner isn’t gone. I can’t wait for him and Leif in other books.

Game Misconduct (The Scoring Chances Series #6) - Audiobook

Loved listening to this! James Edward Jones did an amazing job bringing Leif and Tanner’s chaotic rivals-to-lovers story to life. Hearing Tanner’s loud, zero-filter chirping combined with Leif’s quiet, stressed-out vibe made their banter so much funnier out loud. The chemistry was totally on point, but hearing them soften up and support each other made it even better. Definitely recommend grabbing the audio! Thank you, Neon Rainbow ARC, for this free ALC in exchange for an honest review.

Game Misconduct (The Scoring Chances Series #6) - Audiobook

I enjoyed this story very much. Tanner is so funny and the rivalry between him and Leif is so good and totally foreplay. I love that they keep razzing each other on the ice even when they have started something between them. The interaction between them is not always easy; as two neurodivergent persons with two completely opposite personalities, quirks and mind frames, it takes them a bit to find the right balance and a way to go forward.

Game Misconduct (The Scoring Chances Series #6) - Audiobook

"Lief smiled up at the ceiling, Tanner was a bundle of annoyances wrapped in curly hair and a smile, but he was also growing on Leif." Thank you, @brighamvaughn & Neon Rainbow, for my audiobook copy of Game Misconduct, the 6th Boston Harriers book. The entire series is narrated by James Edward Jones. Game Misconduct overlaps with events in both Delayed Penalty & Cheap Shot. I highly recommend reading this series in order, actually I recommend starting with Road Rules, Rules of the Game Book 1. What readers will find inside the pages of Game Misconduct 🏒 MM Romance 🏒 Rivals to Lovers 🏒 Menance & Ice Princess 🏒 Hockey 🏒 Found Family 🏒 Opposites Attract 🏒 Neurodivergent Representation 🏒 Cameos 🏒 Situationship 🏒 Prologue 🏒 Dual POV 🏒 Epilogue I have wanted Tanner’s story since he was patient 0! Then add in the hints to Leif & his connection, I was desperate for their story. I was not disappointed. The dual POV gave readers insight into both Tanner & Leif, it made me fall even more in love with Tanner & in love with Leif. This MM Hockey Romance is full of heart, heat and concludes with a HEA.

Game Misconduct (The Scoring Chances Series #6) - Audiobook

I do recommend you read this series in order especially the last couple as so much is mentioned and so many recurring players...however there is plenty backstory that you won't be completely lost, just might slow ya down some. I highly recommend the audio version. It just adds something extra. I love the way you can feel the excitement and the narrator is fabulous with the spicy scenes too. He really brings out all the inflections and just adds so much that I cannot in just reading.

Game Misconduct (The Scoring Chances Series #6) - Audiobook

Story: Tanner and Leif are a great pair of MCs. I loved Tanner's energy and his chaos goblin ways. Definitely made for a fun read and great addition to the series! Narration (in audio): Awesome job from the narrator! I think both MCs' personalities were captured really well and the overall vibe of the story was spot on!

Game Misconduct (The Scoring Chances Series #6) - Audiobook

This book sets up for the next series in New York. Tanner and Leif’s story had me laughing and also brought me to tears. This enemies to lovers was a delight to read. I don’t want any spoilers so I am being careful with what I say, but the last couple chapters had me in tears. Also, I must say I LOVED Clarence! The audiobook enhances enhances the words the author wrote and gives the characters the personalities written for them.
